Carer (FS/Wylam)

Carer needed for delightful teenage girl with severe learning disability and complex health needs

We are looking to appoint carer(s) to join our current small team to work with our 18-year-old daughter to start.  We live in Wylam, Northumberland.  Car driver desirable.

Our daughter has learning and physical disabilities as well as complex health needs related to epilepsy.  She needs full support with personal care and mobility, but she benefits from being encouraged and supported to complete tasks as independently as possible.  Previous experience in a similar area is desirable, although not necessary as full paid training will be provided.  Your role at all times will be to enable her to participate, have fun, learn new skills and develop her independence.

Our daughter is friendly and enthusiastic with an infectious smile.  As her carer you will need to be equally enthusiastic as well as kind, caring and physically fit.  We expect a certain level of commitment from our staff, such as being willing to learn and adapt your current skill set to fit in to the family setting.

Shift patterns vary from the following:

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 4pm – 7pm

Wednesdays (resting night shift): 10pm – 8.15am

Sundays (resting night shift): 6pm – 8.15am

There will also be an expectation that you will have a degree of flexibility to help towards holiday cover and when the family is away.

Full time or part time considered.

Pay rate starting at £8.48 but negotiable depending on experience.
