Carer (Wylam)

Carer for delightful teenage girl with learning disability and additional health needs

We are looking to appoint carer(s) to join our current small team, to work with our 19-year-old daughter, to start September ‘20.  We live in Wylam, Northumberland.  Car driver desirable.

Our daughter has learning and physical disabilities as well as complex health needs related to epilepsy.  She needs full support with personal care and mobility, but she benefits from being encouraged and supported to complete tasks as independently as possible.  Previous experience in a similar area is desirable, although not necessary as full training will be provided.  Your role at all times will be to enable her to participate, have fun, learn new skills, help her to stay healthy and develop her independence.

Our daughter is friendly and enthusiastic with an infectious smile.  As her carer you will need to be equally enthusiastic as well as kind, caring and physically fit.  We expect a certain level of commitment from our staff, such as being willing to learn and adapt your current skill set to fit in to the family setting.

Shifts to include Saturday daytime (could suit someone who has availability for weekend work only) early evenings and overnights (including some Fridays and Saturdays on rota basis).  Approx. 20 hours available.  Pay rate is negotiable depending on experience.

Please email us or phone 07768 619755 for further information and a full job description.  Please text first to establish a convenient time to talk.

IMPORTANT: The form must be completed in full.
A curriculum vitae will not be accepted as a substitute.
