Job Title: Female Personal Assistant (BS/DP/001/20)

Hours: 9pm-9am 5 nights per week to be split between 2 posts

Pay rate: £10.50 per hour

Area: Sandyford

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become part of a care and support team, supporting a woman to continue to live independently and safely within her home.

A PA is needed who can be flexible and adapt to changing situations, experience of supporting someone who has dementia would be an advantage.

This post is a waking night shift with additional day times hours as and when needed to cover daytime staff holidays and sickness.

About the person

Betty is 100 years old. She lives within supported accommodation. Betty loves the outdoors, watching nature and particularly has an interest in gardens and birds.

Betty has an incredible background including reading natural sciences at Newham College, Cambridge and qualifying as a doctor. She lived in Canada with her husband before returning to the UK. She is a talented pianist, enjoys and is very knowledgeable about music. Betty has a variety of interests including music, poetry and literature.

Her independence is extremely important to her and to her family.

Betty does have considerable hearing loss so good clear communication is vital within this role.

Betty is mobile around her flat with assistance to get up and down and the use of a Rotunda.

Betty has a diagnosis of dementia and recently her communication and routine has been affected by a couple of short hospital stays.
