Female Support Worker

Up to 8 Hours per week (2-3 sessions)

Hourly rate: £8.99 per hour

Central Gateshead Area

About This Job

A Female Support Worker (aged 25 or over) is required to work in the Central Gateshead Area, two to three sessions per week.

A full driving licence is essential, as you will be required to drive the employer’s own vehicle.

About Me

My name is Sarah and I have cerebral palsy.  I cannot walk unaided and use elbow crutches and a wheelchair to move around.

I work in retail part-time and have a varied shift pattern.  I like to exercise and I am looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to drive and accompany me to the gym.

In my spare time hobbies include reading, watching films and listening to music (mostly pop/rock).  I also enjoy going to the cinema and live theatre with friends.

As I have difficulties with movement, I require a Support Worker who is patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with adults with physical disabilities.

Main Duties

You will be required to support me with the following:

  • Support me to travel to and from the gym
  • To support me whist using gym equipment
  • Support me to attend social outings and activities
  • Light housework
  • Moving and handling

You must be willing to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.  The position is also subject to a three month probationary period.

The applicant is required to have the characteristics set out above which are deemed an occupational requirement of the role in compliance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
