Temporary Personal Assistant – Fixed Term until April 2020

Hours                  6 hours per week in School Term Time

7.5 hours per week in February, May and October Half Terms

15 hours every other week in Summer, Christmas and Easter Holidays

Additional hours to cover holiday and sickness of other team members may be offered.

Purpose of Job

My son Adam (who is 17) is looking for a happy, energetic and upbeat person to work as his Personal Assistant.  Adam loves being out and about visiting parks, having a kick about, going to the beach and visiting the Discovery Museum to name just a few of the things that he enjoys.

Adam also likes to spend time in the home where he very much enjoys doing arts and crafts.  The role may also involve enabling him to attend clubs and groups that he is interested in.

The ideal candidate will enjoy all of the above, have a sense of humour, be calm, happy to push, fold and lift a wheelchair, be confident working independently and happy to support Adam to find new activities to try as well.  Whilst not essential, it would provide more flexibility if the applicant was a car driver.  Also experience of supporting individuals around challenging behaviour would be preferred (training will also be provided).
