Personal Care Assistant GW/Gateshead

Full time        35 hours per week

Hourly Rate  £10.60

Job location: Gateshead Quayside flat (fully adapted)

Looking for someone to care for a 34-year-old man with Muscular Dystrophy, care experience is preferred but not essential – on the job training will be provided.

Usual shifts are 10 hour days and 14 hour evening and overnights however, *Due to COVID-19 outbreak, shifts are currently 4 days on, 11/12 days off.

Candidates should be responsible, enthusiastic, kind, caring, fun and flexible.

Whilst a high level of responsibility is needed within this role, it is also a very enjoyable and rewarding job. There are opportunities to accompany him to social activities and events, such as football games, the cinema, and holidays.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing both personal and medical care
  • Daily tasks such as dressing, bathing, and eating
  • Working both day and night shifts
  • Accompanying him to social events.
