Purpose of Job
This job is to support my 29 year old son who is a very cheerful, very sociable young man, with a slapstick sense of humour who enjoys company. He is looking for someone who is bubbly, upbeat and chatty to be his Personal Assistant.

As he needs support with all aspects of daily living (including all aspects of his personal care and hygiene). His Personal Assistant must be confident, calm, patient and willing to take the time to get to know him and learn his style of communication. He doesn’t use words, but he is more than capable of letting you know what he wants, what makes him happy and what he doesn’t want once you get to know him.

There are lots of activities he enjoys and places that he likes to visit, for example; Rebound Therapy, the Newburn Centre, going out to eat (he is something of a foodie with very adventurous tastes). Ideally his Personal Assistant will have some interests in common with him, but it is essential that they are an outdoors person. Being outside is really important to my son, he does not see wind, rain or snow as reasons not to go out – he has waterproofs and is not afraid to use them – it is essential that my sons Personal Assistant feels the same way.

This role is subject to references and a enhanced DBS check.
