A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an established team of Personal Assistants.  Supporting me to remain independent within my own home and accessing my community.

You will provide all the support needed to facilitate daily living.

About me

My name is Steven, I have been employing my own team of support staff for the last two years.

I am looking for some additional staff to join my established team of friendly support staff.  I live independently and you will work from my home.

I am in my 50’s I have two sons and a 7 year old granddaughter who will often come over and I take her out.

I love films especially any film with some action in it.  I enjoy a trip to the cinema to watch the latest releases.

I enjoy going out for meals and my local is the Lambton Worm where I enjoy a nice steak.  I have a great sense of humour.

In the house I have a home cinema set up and I enjoy using the PC.

I like to use Amazon and do a lot of my food shopping online.

I used to manage and run my own business in industry insulation.  Outside of work my biggest past time was Parachuting.

I am quadriplegic due to a spinal cord injury in a parachute accident 20 years ago.  Therefore, I now require support in all aspects of independent living and personal care.  My support staff are my arms and hands.

I use a power wheelchair, which I control with my chin.  All my transfers are done by hoist.

Training will be provided in all aspects of my support and care.

You will work alongside another PA during the hours of 5-6pm and 8am-11am

From midnight on the night shift you will be able to sleep until 7:30am, although you will be required to provide assistance if I need it through the night.

I have a room that is used as my PA room and there is a bed in there for night shifts.  You are also free to make use of the kitchen for hot drinks.  There will be some free time during the day and evening so if you are a student there could be times for study or if you enjoy reading there will be time for that or a small hobby such as drawing, knitting etc.

All posts will be subject to a probation period, clear DBS checks and two references.
