Malcolm Macourt

has been involved in the governance of many not-for-profit organisations since moving to Newcastle in the late 1970s as an academic.  He has been a Board member of organisations providing housing, transport, social facilities, education – secondary, further and higher; he has concerned himself with the development and co-ordination of voluntary sector organisations and the provision of services for refugees. He has chaired several organisations, and has served as secretary and treasurer of others.  He has been involved in research into transport provision and his published works include a book on the provision of telephone services for those with issues concerning sexual orientation.
