Family Support Worker CG/Spennymoor

Hours: Waking nights 1-2 shifts of 12 hours per night, per week

Rate: £10 per hour

Area: Spennymoor

Can you help look after a little boy who relies on you for everything? From speaking up for him to feeding him; from moving him to helping him just breathe easily?

He is a 6 year old little boy who, like many boys his age, likes to be thrown about on a trampoline and splash about in the pool. He likes music and nursery rhymes, singing and making stuff too.

When life is not in lockdown he loves to go to the farm, to the theatre, music classes – anywhere your imagination takes him. Can you help him?

We are looking for someone that can come and help him be that 6 year old, look after his medical needs and support his little body with everyday life. You would be helping not just him, but his older sister and parents too.

You might be cleaning up, restocking his cupboards, playing with him and tending to his medical needs (tube feeding and suction) all in one hour. If you go out of the house you literally could be going anywhere.

We need you to have a good grasp of moving and handling and keeping yourself and things in general clean. A love of dogs is helpful.

We’d like you to have experience, but will consider applicants with the right qualities and in return we will give you full, one to one training.

If you can help us, please get in touch. Apply now and request an application pack. We will tell you everything about us.

We need waking nights carers to cover 1-2 shifts of 12 hours per night, per week. The work is variable, and the hours are planned in advance. If you have a fixed need because of your commitments we can talk about this. You will need to be able to work weekends when requested.

Training will be short day and evening shifts for up to 3 months of up to 4-5 hours per day.

Opportunity to work short daytime hours when available as optional overtime.

Please see Job Description for further information.

Closing date: 29th April 2021
