Female Personal Care Assistants – SGANT

Female Personal Care Assistant x 3 positions

Hours: Maximum of 5 hours per week hours to be arranged

Rate of Pay: £11.75 per hour (mileage allowance provided)

Area: Based in Forest Hall, North Tyneside.


Seeking 3 female care assistants, each to work separately, working 4-5 hours each, per week.  Hours can be spread over week, but client needs consistency so she will expect you to commit to the same hours/days every week.

Employee has hearing difficulties, so it is essential that candidates speak clearly and well. Patience is paramount.

Experience is not essential as trained on the job will be provided where required, but reliability and punctuality are vital.

Our client has a lung condition and asthma, so it is essential that you are fully vaccinated against Covid, including boosters, and that you are a non-smoker.  You need to be strong enough to push and lift a wheelchair, and to assist our client in and out of chairs, etc.

The ideal applicant will be committed and able to work the set and agreed hours every week. She will respect the client’s privacy and understand her need for confidentiality.

She will have a good telephone manner and be capable of using Word, with good basic typing skills, & reasonable spelling & grammar skills, as she will be required to do admin such as making phone calls, typing letters, etc.


Personal Assistant Tasks

The work involves some or all the following tasks: some duties are on a rota basis. As client’s needs vary, it is important that you are flexible about the work and agree to undertake other reasonable tasks.

Personal Requirements: Support to get in/out of bed, car, or wheelchair. Support with hair washing/ drying.

Pushing wheelchair and driving client: Taking client shopping, to visit friends & family, & access the community.

General domestic duties: General housework, including cleaning, dusting, hoovering, mopping floors. Preparation and cooking of meals and drinks and clearing up. Changing bed. Occasional laundry and ironing.


Subject to references and DBS checks.

This is permanent position with 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year. All pay done by payroll company, including tax & NI.

Petrol is paid per mile for any driving done during working hours on employer’s behalf.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
