Job Title: Personal Assistant
Location: Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne
Hours: 9 hours per week to be used flexibly
Rate of Pay: £14.25 per hour

Peter is an easy going 45-yearold man who lives in Heaton and is looking for a PA to drive his mobility vehicle to enable him to access the community, go to the occasional event and also to accompany him locally in his electric wheelchair.

Peter has a wide range of interests and a broad knowledge of music and film. He also likes to go shopping as well as for a drink and a bite to eat. Someone with knowledge of the local area would be very useful. He is also a member of English Heritage and is interested in visiting accessible historical sites, art galleries and museums.

Peter has mobility/sensory difficulties which have impacted significantly on his everyday life, and the PA has to be aware that he must regularly keep himself hydrated and be knowledgeable about basic catheter care. Some assistance with food/drink may be required due to lack of dexterity in his hands. At times he can become easily fatigued as well so this has to be monitored. When out and about in his electric wheelchair, the PA will need to vigilant about the surrounding environment particularly surfaces. Ideally Peter is looking for a PA with similar interests who has previous experience of working with adults with disabilities.

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check and references which will be taken up if you are offered the post.
