Personal Assistants SDJ/GH

Positions available: Two regular PAs (term time); Relief staff (to cover sickness over term time/casual holidays)

Rate of pay: £10/hour

Hours: (part time) 07:00-09:00 and 15:30-18:30 Monday to Wednesday (term time)

Location: Dunston, Gateshead

Do you have a passion for supporting young adults with additional needs? Are you able to think on your feet and work in a team?

Staff needed for Personal Assistant vacancies to assist a loving young man with Autism, behavioural issues, violent tendencies and who is completely deaf. Young man communicates solely through BSL and facial expressions. Will be working alongside already established PA.

Role includes supporting young man during first shift morning routines before school, including preparing breakfast and personal care. Second shift involves personal care after school, heating up dinner and sensory activities.

Must have previous experience with complex, challenging behaviours and an understanding of Autism and deaf awareness. Must have some experience with using sign language and willingness to be trained up and learn quickly on the job.
