PA Vacancy

Personal Assistant – ALBNCL

Hours: 4-6 hours per month (day is flexible). Occasionally an opportunity for more hours.

Rate of pay: £14.00 per hour

Location: Fenham (Two Ball Lonnen – West Road end), Newcastle upon Tyne

I am turning 70 this year and am totally blind, so I rely on a personal assistant to guide me when I am out and about. My partner and I will be on hand to assist you in how to guide me, until you are fully confident, so the most important thing is that you are willing to learn and feel comfortable around me.

I am looking for someone who can work around 4–6 hours a month on a day that suits both of us, although there may occasionally be extra hours available.

I really enjoy getting out and about. I love a day at the coast, a wander to the local park for an ice cream while listening to the brass band play, and a good rummage around charity shops, so it would be lovely if you enjoy those things too. Some days we might head into town for a bit of shopping, while on other days we may stay at home where you might help me with a bit of cooking or simply enjoy a good natter over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

You don’t need to be a driver, but you should feel confident using public transport. When guiding me you will need to stay on your toes, but full training will be given so you know exactly what to do.

I also appreciate honesty. If something isn’t quite right, such as my outfit not matching or my hair needing doing, I would like you to tell me. I like to look respectable and won’t take offence.

If you are friendly, reliable, and enjoy getting out and about as well as having a good chat, this could really be a good job for you.

This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.

At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
