PA Vacancy

Team Leader (Support Team) – ADNT

Location: Monkseaton, Whitley Bay

Hours: 30 hours per week (flexible across the week)

Pay: £15.25 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and well-organised Team Leader to work within a small, established team of Personal Assistants supporting a young man living at home. He is an active person who requires consistent, well-judged support to remain safe and to develop and maintain independence in day-to-day life.

The team is experienced and generally works well. The role is to maintain standards, ensure consistency, and provide clear oversight, while remaining part of the day-to-day support. The position is family-led. The Team Leader acts as a link between the family and the team — taking direction from the family, ensuring this is reflected in practice, and feeding back clearly on how things are working.

What the Role Involves

  • Working alongside the team to support day-to-day care, while maintaining an overview of how support is being delivered.
  • Helping to establish and maintain clear, consistent routines that support independence and reduce uncertainty.
  • Maintaining oversight of care to ensure it remains appropriate and supports choice and independence.
  • Keeping documentation and records up to date and in order.
  • Acting as a clear point of accountability within the team.
  • Feeding back regularly to the family, including sharing updates, raising concerns, and identifying where changes may be needed.
  • Supporting the implementation of agreed approaches and ensuring consistency across the team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working in care, with some experience of supporting or guiding others.
  • Organised and able to keep on top of practical responsibilities, including records.
  • A working understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and how it applies in everyday situations.
  • Able to communicate clearly and follow through on instructions.
  • Comfortable working within a family-led structure.
  • Experience with moving and handling, medication administration and epilepsy awareness required.
  • Driver Preferred.

Personal Qualities

  • Calm, consistent, and reliable.
  • Observant, with good attention to detail.
  • Able to take responsibility and see things through.

Additional Information

This is a hands-on role as part of an existing team. It would suit someone who is able to combine practical support with a clear sense of oversight, and who is comfortable working within an established way of doing things while helping to keep it consistent and well-organised.

This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.

At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
