PA Vacancy

Self-Employed Personal Assistant/Support Role – GHONCL

Hours: 6 hours per week (flexible but includes weekends)

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Area: Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne

Mileage paid if you use your own car for outings

I’m looking for someone kind, patient and reliable to spend time with my little boy who is autistic. He’s 4, full of character, and absolutely loves trampolining, soft play, anything to do with vehicles or buses and he never says no to a trip to a café for cake.

About the Role

What I’d really like is someone who can get to know him properly, understand how he sees the world, and give him fun opportunities in a safe and supportive way. Sometimes that might mean soft play, trampolining, a bus ride or a café visit, other times it might just be time at home where he feels comfortable. He needs someone calm, consistent and patient who can help him feel safe and enjoy himself.

What We’re Looking For

I would love for him to have another safe person in his world, someone he enjoys spending time with and can build a real friendship with.

The right person will be warm and reliable. A driver would be handy for outings but it’s not essential. You don’t need lots of formal experience with autism, just a genuine willingness to learn about him, as I can share what works best.

Interested?

If this sounds like you, I’d love to hear from you. Please send a covering letter and CV to: directpayments@disabilitynorth.org.uk
