Ross Irvine

Direct Payments Advisor

I have worked at Disability North in various roles.  Firstly on reception and then as the helpline advisor for the DLF, a nationwide helpline for professionals and the general public trying to locate disability equipment, however the enquiries were wide ranged and I really enjoyed the challenge of helping people find what they needed.

Previous to that I was a teacher for 25 years and amongst other jobs spent the first 10 years of my working life in the shipyards on the Clyde

I now provide advice and support to people who receive a personal budget for Direct Payments, starting from the referral stage, preparing budgets, visiting clients in their own home explaining the options available to them and supporting them with recruitment and always being available to help with queries that may arise.

Something not many people know about me:
I was once an extra in a film starring Sean Connery, called Five Days One Summer, which was also the last film to be directed by the late great Fred Zinnemann.
