Personal Care Assistant for a man with Muscular Dystrophy
The job involves providing personal care and assistance for a 31-year-old man with Muscular Dystrophy. He lives in a fully adapted flat on the Quayside, and is able to live a normal life with a team of carers.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing both personal and medical care
- Helping him with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing, and eating
- Working both day and night shifts
- Accompanying him to social events and activities
Successful part-time candidates will be expected to work a minimum of 24 hours, whilst full time hours are 34+, both including day and evening/overnight shifts.
The ideal candidate should be friendly, kind, enthusiastic, flexible, well-presented, and of a caring disposition. Care experience is not essential as on the job training will provided. The role is ideal for students or somebody wanting to pursue a career in care.
Whilst a high level of responsibility is needed within this role, it is also a very enjoyable and rewarding job. There are opportunities to accompany him to social activities and events, such as football games, the cinema, and holidays.
