About the Role:

Hi, my name is Emma. I’m currently looking for a caring and energetic Personal Assistant to support my son, Frankie, during social outings and home-based activities. This role involves keeping Frankie safe while encouraging his independence and enjoyment of the world around him.

About Frankie:

Frankie is an almost 7-year-old boy who is full of life and always on the go. He has a brilliant, cheeky sense of humour and a love for energetic play—whether that’s being on his scooter, swimming, bouncing on the trampoline, or exploring local parks. While he also enjoys downtime, he thrives when active and engaged.

Frankie is autistic and has Sensory Processing Disorder. He doesn’t communicate verbally but can express his needs in other ways, such as leading you by the hand. Frankie doesn’t yet understand danger, so he needs close supervision, especially when out and about.

Wiktoria (pronounced Victoria) is a lovely little 10-year-old twin to her brother Oliwer (pronounced Oliver). She lives with her mum and dad and siblings in Benwell. The family also have a lovely labrador dog. Wiktoria has learning disabilities and high functioning Autism, she is non-verbal and communicates by showing you her needs and wants, she can use some Makaton signs to assist her in communicating. Wiktoria relies on a buggy when she goes out into the community both to assist her and to keep her safe as she is prone to running away and has no sense of danger, she is still in nappies so you would be expected to carry out personal care duties as her personal assistant.

Wiktoria requires her food to be blended or of a soft consistency as she struggles with textures and solids, as her personal assistant you would be expected to ensure her food is suitable for her to consume. Wiktoria does not engage in technology and prefers to entertain herself with crafts or shredding paper and toilet rolls, this can be a repetitive behaviour. She is a natural “water baby” and loves anything to do with water, she particularly enjoys swimming and the sensation of shower water, so she would love a personal assistant to help her attend the local swimming pools. She also enjoys music when she is in the mood.

Wiktoria is looking for a PA who can assist her in accessing the community where she would like to engage in activities like swimming, play parks particularly the swings, and the Tim Lamb Centre or places that have sensory provisions.

Hi, my name is Ben. I’m a 16-year-old boy and I’m autistic. I’m quite shy at first, so it takes me a little time to feel comfortable around new people, but once I do, I can really open up.

I’m looking for someone friendly, patient, and understanding to support me to develop my independence and confidence. This will include helping me with everyday skills like going to the shop, meeting new people, and feeling more confident when I’m out in the community.

I have a few interests that are really important to me. I love Dragon Ball Z and Godzilla, and I really enjoy making TikTok videos. I’m also a big fan of Newcastle Eagles basketball and like watching their games.

The right person for me will be someone who can encourage me at my own pace, help me try new things, and support me to grow in confidence while respecting who I am. A good sense of humour and an interest in the things I enjoy would be a big plus.

If you think you could support me to build my independence and confidence, I’d really like to meet you.
