Driving Licence Essential

I’m registered as severely sight impaired and live with my two lovely children, my amazing guide dog, and our very cheeky pet dog. We’re a lively household that loves long walks, especially when they end with coffee and cake (bonus points if you love cake too).

Speaking of cake, I’m a keen baker. My son says I should open a bakery because my bakes are that good. So, if you enjoy taste-testing muffins or being around the smell of fresh cookies, you’re in luck.

When the sun’s out, we love pottering in the garden and trying to grow things (sometimes successfully, sometimes not). Weekends and school holidays are all about fun days out think National Trust adventures, soft play chaos, swimming, and even bouncing around at trampolining parks!

The job? You’ll be my extra pair of eyes out in the world—helping me get out and about, whether that’s a trip to the shops, a walk with the dogs, or a family day out. That means you’ll need to be:

  • A confident communicator (describing things clearly helps me stay independent and involved),
  • A driver with a full licence (I have an automatic car you’ll use),
  • Comfortable helping around the house with a mix of domestic tasks.

No experience? No worries! Training will be provided. What really matters is that you bring:

  • Enthusiasm,
  • A great attitude towards disabled people,
  • And a sense of humour (because we love a good laugh around here!).

If this sounds like a role you’d enjoy—and your kind, reliable, and happy to join us on dog walks and cake breaks—then I’d love to hear from you!

A clean valid driving licence is essential for this role.  You must be over 25 years old for insurance purposes.

Positions are subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS criminal record check.
