Brief details of the job

I am looking for a reliable and flexible pool of Personal Assistants/ Support Workers to provide support 2:1 respite care at home, and also for walks and trips to the swimming pool etc. The requirement is for two workers to be available for every session. This could be short 2-hour sessions, evenings or half or full days – more sessions (up to 18 hours a week are available during the school holidays).

A support worker is required to work with a 16-year-old young man with cerebral palsy and Autism living close to Whitley Bay. They enjoy going out in the community to visit parks, arcades, leisure pool, trampolining and places of interest around the North East.

This job would suit a person looking for a rewarding career, and who has a positive and caring nature to assist a young man to develop their confidence, social skills and independence. There are part time hours available which involve weekday evenings and work during the day on weekends.

There is also the opportunity to work more hours during school holidays.
