Personal Assistant – DJBNCL

Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (NE5)

Hours of work: 1 or 2, 13-hour shifts per week, including some weekend working. Typical working hours are 7.30am-8.30pm.

Rate of pay: £13.00 per hour.

I’m looking for a personal assistant/s to join my existing team.

I live at home with my wife, 2 young children (and our 2 cats!) and work full time, so like many of you, this means life can be very busy.

I’m a big sports fan, with a particular interest in football and basketball. I follow both Newcastle United and Newcastle Eagles.

My personal assistants are required to support me and help me maintain my independence, as I’m physically disabled, and use a powered wheelchair to get around.

As one of my personal assistants you’ll have a variety of roles, from supporting me with all aspects of my personal care, to being on hand to help me with some of my duties when working in the office. At home, you’ll be a great help with domestic tasks, such as meal preparation, laundry, and general cleaning.

As this is a family home, ideal personal assistants become part of our extended family, so being comfortable around young children, whilst also respecting our need for family time are great skills to possess.

All training is provided via shadow shifts, induction and time learning on the job, meaning previous experience in this sector is not necessary, as long as you’re willing and able.

I use a large wheelchair accessible vehicle, so having a clean licence (over 21 for insurance purposes) and being confident driving a vehicle of this size is advantageous, but non-drivers are also considered equally.
