Hours: 2 hours per week (University term time only)

Rate of Pay: 15.00 per hour

Social Support required for 21-year-old undergraduate student at Durham University who lives in college.

He enjoys going out for walks and coffee and exploring new places. He has a keen interest in classical music especially orchestral symphonies and plays the organ, piano and viola. He enjoys languages especially German and Russian.

 

Brief details of the job:

To provide social support/befriending for a young man on the Autistic Spectrum to reduce his social isolation at weekends. The support will ideally be on a Saturday, to go out for a walk, have a coffee and chat or possibly attend classical concert together.

Good listening skills, a sense of humour and empathy are essential. Understanding of ASD and experience of supporting others with Autism. Appreciation of classical music/ability to speak German or Russian would be ideal but not essential.

Car driver preferred.
