The Role:

I’m looking for two fun, friendly and reliable personal assistants to support my daughter, Shannon, on a 2:1 basis. This role is focused on enabling her to enjoy activities in the community, develop independence, and build her social life—all while ensuring she remains safe and supported.

 

About Shannon:

Shannon is a happy, bubbly 12-year-old girl who loves to laugh and have fun. She is energetic, playful, and thrives on being active. Her favourite activities include:

  • Trampoline parks
  • Sensory-based play
  • Music
  • Painting
  • Going out for food or snacks

Shannon is autistic and non-verbal. She uses a communication device (VOCA), although she needs encouragement to use it. She communicates well through gestures and guiding others. Shannon also has epilepsy (well-managed by medication) and possible OCD tendencies.

Driver with own wheelchair adapted vehicle essential

 

We are currently recruiting for an experienced personal assistant to assist a lovely, happy, bubbly, chatty 12-year-old young boy who has Cerebral Palsy, Chronic Lung Disease, and is a wheelchair user. He attends mainstream school with 1-2-1 support.

Zain lives with his mum and dad in the Fenham area and is keen to have his own support to access the community and go on lots of ventures. He has a specialist diet and will require support with feeding. Zain communicates well however some of his pronunciation can be unclear and you will need to learn how to communicate and listen to understand him on occasions.

Faith and cultural values are important to the family who follow a Muslim faith, and Zain has had the great experience of visiting Mecca, which he enjoyed. He is quite the traveller and loves planning vacations.

Zain has a great sense of humour and is emotional intelligent so he will pick up on your mood and ask you about your feelings.

Zain is looking for a PA with experience in working with children with disabilities and complex needs who can accompany him to his chosen venues or activities including local parks, swimming pools, and theme parks. You may be required to do this on a one-to-one basis or be in the company of the family if a family event is organised or religious festivities are on. He enjoys attending football matches and days to the cinema too.

Personal care will be required in this role regarding toileting needs where Zain will require assistance to access toilet facilities.

A good level of fitness is required to transport and operate wheelchair use safely.

A car driver is essential for this employed role, and your car must be wheelchair adapted to accommodate a wheelchair.

We are looking for a compassionate, responsible Personal Assistant (PA) to support our daughter, Dua, a friendly, fun, and sociable almost 12-year-old with Apert Syndrome. Dua is fully dependent on a tracheostomy to maintain a safe airway, and she also has learning disabilities. Dua’s health condition requires careful attention to hygiene and PPE, including wearing a mask. The role will involve accompanying Dua in a taxi to and from school, ensuring her safety and well-being throughout the journey.

 

Essential Skills:

Awareness and experience of working with individuals with a tracheostomy.

Ability to react quickly and efficiently in emergencies.

Good hygiene practices and the ability to maintain a clean environment.

Willingness to engage in required training.

Sukhmani is a lovely 11-year-old young girl who lives with her mum, dad and brother in Fenham Newcastle. Sukhmani has a diagnosis of Autism and is non-verbal, she communicates using picture cards and gestures, she will lead to indicate her needs and show you what she requires. Sukhmani is a happy bubbly little girl who is looking to employ a personal assistant who can patiently and enthusiastically assist her to access the community and motivate her to enhance her own independence. The family regularly attend their local Temple where they enjoy lots of activities that the Sikh Temple provides.

Sukhmani will require some personal care on occasion however she is able to utilise toileting needs independently most of the time. She is able to independently manage mealtimes, however, she does impulsively eat and drink anything that may be in her sights so always requires supervision to ensure she does not consume anything she should not be eating.

Sukhmani can become disruptive or withdrawn if she becomes dysregulated, so we are seeking someone with experience of managing dysregulation and has a background in Autism awareness and management. Sukhmani has no awareness of danger in all aspects of life and as such will require a vigilant eye and cannot be left unsupervised at any time. She enjoys sensory stimulation in the form of texture toys and water, she currently enjoys Punjabi dancing and music and is currently learning how to swim and skate. Sukhmani does enjoy some time on her technology gadgets and is quite the master at managing the devices.

We would like someone with a good level of fitness who can assist Sukhmani to attend trampoline centres, wall climbing centres and outdoor venues in nature or the local parks where she can use her scooter.

A car driver is essential for this position. A non-smoker is required for this position due to allergens.
