Job Overview

A Female Personal Assistant is required to support with personal care and meal preparation.

7 hours are to be worked 4 evenings per week typically as follows:

 

Tuesday 5.15 pm – 7.00 pm

Wednesday 5.15 pm – 7.00 pm

Thursday 5.15 pm – 7.00pm

Friday 4.45 pm – 6.30 pm

Hours of work:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9.30 am to 2.30pm

Week 2: Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 2.30pm,  Saturday morning 9am to 12 noon,  Sunday morning 10am to 1pm (Alternative weekends)

Rate of pay: £16.00 per hour

I have a really big personality and love to have a good chat and laugh. I have a close family, I live with my husband, three children, and two dalmatians. I enjoy watching TV/DVD’s and listening to music. I have a creative nature and enjoy arts and crafts. I enjoy creating and making cards for all occasions. In the kitchen I very much like to be involved with the family meals, and the preparation of them.

In August 2016 I had a stroke and the road to recovery has been a slow process. Your role will be essential to my independence within my home.

Hours: 24-32 hours available per week. Mixture of day and night shifts, or combined.

Shifts patterns are 9.45am-6pm or 5.45pm-10am following morning (including a sleep-in period between 12am-8am) Possibility of a combined shift over a 24-hour period. Monthly rotas are supplied.

Female personal assistant required for a lady with an acquired head injury in her own home in Hamsterley Mill near Rowlands Gill.

Accompanying the client on trips/holidays is a requirement of the job when necessary.

Brain injury experience is preferred but not mandatory. Care experience needed.

 

Job role

The client requires support to live her life as independently as possible. She needs 24-hour care, 7 days a week.

The client needs support with personal care, upkeep of home, cooking, medication administration, shopping, appointments, exercise, socialisation and helping to take care of her dogs. So, liking dogs is essential.

In house training is provided. Client uses a wheelchair when out but has walking ability in the house.

Client has her own car that the carer will use to transport her so, a clean driving licence is essential.

Initial phone interview held first prior to offer of an interview in person.
