Hours: Night shifts

Rate: £11.44 per hour. Time and a half bank holidays. Sleepover set rate £60 (midnight- 8am)

Area: Hamsterley Mill, near Rowlands Gill

 

One to one female personal assistant required for a lady with an Acquired Head Injury, in her own home in Hamsterly Mill (near Rowlands Gill). She is 45 years old, loves watching movies, doing craft and spending time with her family and her dogs.

Brain injury experience is preferred, but not essential however experience in care is required.

Car drivers are essential.

Staff will be employed by the client. Not self-employed. Multiple staff required to cover all available hours.

Currently five night shifts available. The night shifts start at 5.45pm till 10am the following morning. However, there is a period of sleep from midnight to 8am, whilst the client sleeps. Staff need to be on hand to assist the client through the night when needed.

Salary £11.44 per hour. Time and a half for bank holidays. Sleepover rate (midnight- 8am) is a set rate of £60.

The main role of the position is to provide assistance, support and encouragement to the client, with the aim of promoting as much independence as possible.

Female aged 36 requires support in and outside of her home. They love singing, drama and attending the theatre and are sociable and outgoing.

 

Brief details of the job:

To provide support to go out into the community/attend local events & social events.

Assist with medication as directed by employer.

Assist with housework.

To prompt with personal care.

 

Applicants need to be outgoing, sociable and have a sense of humour and make a positive impact in their life.

It is essential that the applicant should have previous experience in working with or supporting a person who has mental health difficulties.

Must be friendly and empathetic and have good communication skills.

I have Huntington’s Disease and therefore I am reliant on support for all aspects of daily living and personal care.  The condition will change over time and therefore the tasks will change, and further training or updated training will be needed.
