Purpose of Job

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to work with my 10-year-old daughter. She is a lovely girl, who is very happy and energetic and has a cheeky sense of humour. She loves music, dancing and she loves going to the park or out in the car. She also loves going to the cinema especially films with music and dancing and likes to spend time at the Tim Lamb Centre and caravan breaks when the opportunity arises.

She has Epilepsy and a neurological disorder which means she is non-verbal and sometimes uses a wheelchair for long distances. She is fed through a PEG tube, although she can eat soft foods.

The main part of this role is to support with accessing the community, hours are flexible and can be discussed at interview stage. There will be some personal care tasks involved, like changing nappies or clothing and PEG feeding. There may be some medication to be given through the PEG tube, but training will be provided for that. A very important part of your role will be to always ensure her safety.

My daughter likes to be around happy enthusiastic people so you should be confident and outgoing. Once you get to know her you will get to understand her way of communicating and when she is happy or unhappy.

As the Personal Assistant you will work mainly alongside me and under my direction to meet my daughter’s needs. Previous experience of working with children is preferable, particularly children with special needs, but I am happy to consider applicants who do not have prior experience or knowledge but are willing to learn.

I am looking for somebody who is enthusiastic and pro-active in their work and understand the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.

2 x 3 hours shift during the week Monday, Friday and a 3 hour shift on alternate Saturdays.

Shifts are 10:00am – 1:00pm

Rate of Pay:  £13.50 per hour

I’m a cheerful, friendly lady.  I live with my cat in my own home and require some support to maintain my independence. I enjoy swimming, fresh air, socialising and meeting new people, travel, Sudoku and reading. One of my favourite things to do is to escape to the coast and take in the sea air and relax.

I have a long term, fluctuating, health condition.  I am looking for someone who is able and happy to support me with form filling by putting my words down on to paper in a professional manner, filling out forms and helping me to navigate the various systems.

I am looking for a Personal Assistant, to provide 1:1 support to my 10-year-old son who has Autism, out in the community & activities.

He is happy, confident boy, who is outgoing, talkative, inquisitive and active, who enjoys participating in sporting activities, exploring, going to the beach, swimming, parks, cinema, and doesn’t mind travelling on public transport.

The role calls for someone who is patient, calm, positive, fun & outgoing and has previous experience supporting a young person with autism.

Someone with their own transport is preferable, but not essential.

Hours:  10-hour day-time shifts, Monday to Sunday. Further details will be discussed at the interview stage.

Location:  Newcastle upon Tyne (NE6 area)

 

We are looking for someone smart and enthusiastic, with experience working with young children to support our daughter Lina, who is 3 years old. Lina is very kind but likes to be in charge and can be mischievous taking people’s glasses off them. Lina loves people talking and interacting with her. Lina enjoys meeting new people and will look to hold your hand to say hello.

Peppa pig is very popular with Lina at the moment, so she will often be watching this.

Lina is physically disabled with complex health needs, so Personal Assistant’s that are supporting her will need to be caring and patient, with a willingness to learn from us.

Experience with tracheostomy, suction machines, and NG tubes for feeding and medication are beneficial, but training will be provided to all PAs at the start of employment.

At the moment, any support with Lina will take place in hospital.
