We are looking for a female Personal Assistant for a 16-year-old girl. She attends Karate, loves going to the beach and swimming – although not very well yet, and has just started Rangers. She also loves spending time on her tablet and on her phone playing games. However, she gets easily bored and we are looking for someone with a lot of patience, who would be willing to go swimming, go the pictures and ride on the Metro. She loves buses, Metros and travelling generally.

She has five types of epilepsy, and although she is incredibly loving and caring there can be times that she will emotionally exhausted and frustrated extremely when in large crowds.

There will be some personal care involved as she is in pull ups and is also using pads in these at certain times of the month. She does not like fire alarms, or the alarm in disabled toilets, this is resulting from scaring herself as a child.  She also loves dogs, and although there is not a dog resident at the property a friend’s dog does visit, so if you are dog friendly, all the better.

Look past the medical issues and you will see a young lady with a wicked sense of humour, who can talk the ears off you and be amazingly active with after school clubs, and activities galore.

Driver Essential

We’re looking for a kind and reliable male Personal Assistant to support a lovely 73-year-old gentleman who’s been through a tough time with his health.

He’s recovering from two brain aneurysms and a stroke, which have affected the use of his right hand and leg—he now uses a brace for stability and a wheelchair to get around. Despite these challenges, he remains a proud and quiet man who communicates mostly by pointing.

For now, the position is temporary, but it may become permanent depending on the situation.

The role involves:

  • Helping him get up, showered, shaved, and dressed each day
  • Supporting with meals and administering medication
  • Monitoring his diabetes (checking blood sugar and giving a daily insulin injection)
  • Being mindful of any choking risks during meals
  • Assisting with mobility and using the toilet
  • Accompanying him to the gym on Tuesdays for a short session on the static bike
  • Helping him settle down for his afternoon nap
  • He likes to be out and about, shopping and passing the time of day

His wife is currently doing her best to manage everything, but she could really use a helping hand. If you’re compassionate, dependable, and comfortable with personal care, this could be a truly rewarding opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.  A Driver is essential.
