We are looking for a Male Personal Assistant to support a 15-year-old male, a bright, intelligent, and confident young man with a passion for IT, online gaming, and woodworking.

He enjoys activities like playing checkers (draughts), climbing at climbing walls, and going for walks to explore cafes, have a bite to eat, or browse around town while shopping. He is also open to discovering new hobbies and interests with the right guidance and encouragement, which will be a key part of your role.

 

About the individual:

  • He loves engaging conversations and thrives when he has someone open-minded and interesting to chat with.
  • He would benefit from getting back into swimming, an activity he used to enjoy. This would also help address sensory challenges related to personal hygiene.
  • While he knows his own mind, he is open to being encouraged and guided to expand his hobbies and interests further.
  • He has experience with interviewing and would like to be involved in the recruitment process for this role.

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable/assist me in all aspects of daily living including accompanying me to swimming sessions, supporting me with making important telephone calls due to my hearing impairment, and accompanying me to enjoy time with my daughter on days out. I am a wheelchair user so a good level of fitness would be required to push and manoeuvre me safely, you would also need to be able to lift the chair into a car if you are a driver, a driver would be advantageous for this role, but it is not essential, as I can access public transport.

About the employer:
I am a 54-year-old wife and mother. I enjoy going out to the shops, you would be expected to describe and assist me with choosing items I require, watching soaps and I enjoy a trip to the coast in the Summer. I like spend time reading braille or listening to audio books, I also enjoy knitting. My husband, my 20-year-old daughter and I are all severely sight impaired and are currently waiting for a Guide dog to further assist us. We have a small team of PA’s who support us as a family. Job Title: Personal Assistant

3 hours on both Saturday & Sunday

Plus 6 hours to be used flexibly (once a fortnight)

I’m looking to find a PA to join the team for up to 12 hours a week please. This includes 6 hours every weekend.

Must be able to work an evening at least twice a month as I have two very important meetings to attend. One of them usually involves eating out!

Will need to be a pet lover as I have a dog. Tyler who is really friendly, loves to eat AND flirt. Lol

Help with food preparation, shopping, housework, helping with Tyler and generally getting around and, ideally out of the house. I like going to the gym so that I can carry on eating my favourite thing… CAKE!! Nom nom nom

BACKGROUND: I suffered a brain explosion (SAH) back in 2017 which has left me with chronic pain down my right hand side. At times my mobility is bad too. Fatigue is a big problem and can catch me out at any time. I have wheelchair. Ideal for trips out. At times my speech is slurred, and I struggle with words; mild aphasia. I lost the vision in my left eye due to a rare eye cancer (2019). All I need now is a parrot on my shoulder so I could do a great expression of a pirate!!

A driver is required with their own vehicle and appropriate insurance so we can go out and about. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed.

Seeking 2 new permanent members of a team of personal assistants to support a disabled solo parent in their early 30s to live life independently and to the fullest possible. Role requires some personal care support, light housekeeping, help with cooking/meal prep, food shopping, accessing the community, and more. I may also require help to physically enact some of my parenting role – such as lifting my child into or out of the car, support around teeth brushing or putting on footwear. Opportunities to support days out or travel within the country may also occur.

Applicants must bring enthusiasm, confidence, capacity to be self-motivated and work semi-independently at times, be comfortable working around toddlers, comfort with LGBT+ people, excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English…and openness to impromptu dancing happening.
