Max has quadriplegic cerebral palsy coupled with a great sense of humour, loves watching football, having fun, learning and making the most of life. Max is non verbal but immerse yourself in Max and you will soon realise how excellent he is at communicating with facial expression, eyes and his communication device.

Ideally we are looking for someone that has been/or in a care giving role preferably with children but not essential.  We welcome applications if you can work only on certain days/hours within these times and will be seeking more than one carer to support on a job share basis and sometimes as co-carers as Max requires 2:1 care.

Hi there, my name is Hol. I am a 32-year-old woman. I have two cats, Tat & Trix. I love to cook and bake vegan food. My cakes are legendary in the family and beyond. I love reading Fantasy, Crime and Young Adult novels. I love music and I go to as many concerts as possible. Sometimes with my sister or mum and sometimes with my friend, Corrie. I love walking but recently that has been put on the back burner due to pain in my feet and hands.

I have an acquired brain injury, which is due to a benign tumour that was diagnosed when I was 14. I am now 32. My ABI means that I have a reduced cognitive function which means I have slower processing speeds. I become fatigued quickly and need to recharge with a nap before I can go again. Something else from the gift that keeps on giving, as I like to call my ABI, is that the nerves to my bladder are affected, meaning that I must take medication to manage it. However, this also means that I may need to go to the loo at short notice. Apart from that, I can manage my personal needs myself.

Your role would be to help me go shopping. I like to do a weekly shop at Tesco and then batch cook for the week. To help me tidy and organise around the house. Also, help me manage paying my bills. Change my bedding on a weekly basis. Take my cats to the vets, as they go there regularly. Pick up my meds and help me to reorder them. We may also go shopping at Monk’s Cross or Designer Outlet. All this we would do together.

I do not have my driving licence yet, so you will need to have one and a car. Also, I would like someone who doesn’t smoke. Lastly, I would prefer a woman. If you’ve got this far then thank you for reading to the end.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.

You will provide personal support to a client who suffers from periodic complete paralysis, this role will include the need to aid with toilet needs during periods of paralysis. You will be a constant presence but also able to observe without intrusion on occasion, a good relationship and highly established trust with the client and his wife.

Due to periods of complete paralysis you will need to be fit and comfortable with some manual handling. Generally this is limited to repositioning limbs and ensuring comfort, not the lifting and handling of a whole person.

Provision of transport could be a part of the role, and the ability to drive would be considered beneficial, but not essential. The client has a vehicle on which you would be able to be insured to drive, but can no longer drive themselves.
