Disability North is a free Independent Living Service which promotes social inclusion, independence and choice for disabled and older people in the North East of England and Cumbria. Disability North is a user led registered charity which works with, and for, disabled people, empowering them to maximise the control they have over their own lives.
Our Service Team can provide information and advice on equipment for daily living, benefits and Direct Payments as well as advising on many other aspects of disability and signposting to other organisations who can help.
Our Mission: Disability North promotes inclusion, independence and choice for disabled people in the region.
Our Vision: To be the best resource on disability in the North.

DNEX 2012 - The Disability North Exhibition
Disability North is holding the North’s largest Independent Living Exhibition DNEX at Newcastle Racecourse on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th September 2012. DNEX is open daily from 10.00am. DNEX is a must attend event and there is something for everyone including digital technology, aids and adaptations for independent living and accessible leisure facilities.
This free exhibition provides information, advice and equipment for disabled people, older adults, carers and health / social care professionals on a range of disability related issues.

Personalisation, Risk and Safeguarding Adults: The Legal Implications - A Michael Mandlestam Course - We are delighted to announce a new date for the Michael Mandlestam course "Personalisation, Risk and Safeguarding Adults: The Legal Implications". Disability North Conference Room For Hire - Are you looking for somewhere cost effective and convenient to hold your meetings? If the answer is “yes” then why not hire our conference room? It is available seven days a week plus evenings, at extremely competitive rates and has now been updated and boasts a state of the art plasma screen, laptop, projector and Wi-Fi access.
