Disability North is a user led registered charity which works with, and for, disabled people, empowering them to maximise the control they have over their own lives. 

Our Service Team can provide information and advice on equipment and activities for daily living (ADL), benefits and Direct Payments as well as advising on many other aspects of disability and signposting to other organisations who can help.

Our Mission: Disability North promotes inclusion, independence and choice for disabled people in the region.

Our Vision: To be the best resource on disability in the North.

DigitsDisability North Band Night - Headline Band: DIGITS on 28th February 2015

Do you like music? Then why not join us for a night of banging tunes and a great atmosphere. It's time to let your hair down and rock the night away with friends, colleagues and family. We have three amazing bands of different genres.

Our headlining act is none other than DIGITS! - Exploding out of the leftfield scene that gave rise to Biffy Clyro and Hundred Reasons, Digits are authentic outsider-rock with one ear firmly on the melody.

Care Act 2014, Overview, Practical Implications - And Reading Between the Lines.

We are delighted to announce an additonal date for this training on the 14 May 2015 as the training taking place on the 29 January is now sold out.

We are delighted to announce this new Michael Mandelstam course for 2015. This course provides an independent overview of the Care Act 2014. The Act represents a complete shake-up of adult social care legislation. The course takes a practical, inter-active approach.

Ghost Hunt at Blyth Battery Gun: 21st March 2015

Disability North, are holding an event like no other, a free to attend sponsored Ghost Hunt at Blyth Battery Gun on Saturday 21st March 2015, between 9pm and 2am! So why not join us for a fun evening of Paranormal Investigation.

The event is free to take part in, all we ask from you is a £30 refundable deposit and a commitment to reach our £100 fundraising goal though sponsorship.

Chocolate Tasting Evening: 26th March 2015

Join us for a night of indulging chocolates with a talented chocolatier from Davenport Chocolates. On Thursday 26th March at 8pm we are hosting a fantastic night here at The Dene Centre, home of Disability North. So why not come along for a night of tasting a range of worldly chocolates as the Chocolate Master guides our taste buds through an amazing adventure.
