Hours: 21 hours over 3 weekdays

Pay: £15.12 per hour

Area: Boroughbridge area, North Yorkshire

 

You will be providing additional support during scheduled outings on weekdays, working with a British Sign Language Communication Support Worker.

The role is around inclusive person-centred support, to provide guidance, advice and companionship to enable the young lady to be an adult on her own terms. She is very sociable, a keen learner and likes to share in activities and experiences, this is a very rewarding role and there is opportunity to practice and improve your BSL.

 

You will need:

Experience in caring for young adults with autism. A driving licence, a car is provided for outings.

An ability to communicate effectively in British Sign Language at Level 2 or above.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010.

Alternate weekends: Sat: 12.00pm – 6.00pm, Sun: 10.30am – 3.30pm

This role is to work proactively in supporting a young lady communicating using BSL/sign supported English, to access a range of activities. She has additional needs and will need some support with care. You will have a second carer to support and drive on outings.

The role is around inclusive person-centred support, to provide guidance, advice and companionship to enable the young lady to be an adult on her own terms. You will encourage and help her to increase and develop her signing knowledge and skills in BSL. She is very sociable, a keen learner and likes to share in activities and experiences, this is a very rewarding role.

You will need:

An ability to communicate effectively in British Sign Language at Level 2 or above.

Able to work on own initiative.

Experience in providing customised, high quality and responsive support for young adults with additional needs, including autism.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle as we live in a rural area.

You must be able to keep up with an active young lady.

5.6 weeks holiday pro-rata.
