Hours: 21 hours over 3 weekdays

Pay: £16.63 per hour

Area: Boroughbridge area

 

You will be providing additional support during outings on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (a total of 21 hours) for a young lady with autism and learning difficulties, working together with a BSL Communication Support Worker.

This is a very rewarding role and there is opportunity to practice and improve your BSL. Outings include, Art sessions, swimming, cycling, the Railway Museum, country walks, trips to the seaside with a very sociable, keen learner who likes to share in activities and experiences.

 

You will need:

Experience in caring for young adults with autism.

A driving licence, a car is provided for outings.

An ability to communicate effectively in British Sign Language at Level 1 or above

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010.

Alternate weekends: Sat: 12.00pm – 6.00pm, Sun: 10.30am – 3.30pm

You will be providing communication support and care during outings for a young lady with autism and learning difficulties. Outings include, country walks, the Railway Museum, Air Museum, trips to the seaside, stately homes and grounds, with a very sociable, young lady who likes to share in activities and experiences. You will have a second carer to support and drive on outings.

The hours can be extended or varied to suit, please let us know on your application.

You will need:

An ability to communicate effectively in British Sign Language at Level 1 or above.

Able to work on own initiative.

Experience in providing customised, high quality and responsive support for young adults with additional needs, including autism.
