A second personal assistant is required to support a young lady in enabling her to access her local community for 5 hours per week, taking place over the weekend. With a diagnosis of a Learning Disability, Autism, ADHD and global developmental delay this late teenage woman can present with some challenging and sometimes inappropriate behaviour.

The successful applicant will work alongside another personal assistant to support the client. You should have patience, tolerance and a strong sense of self in guiding this teenager to enjoy activities, whilst making good choices when accessing the community. A driving licence and your own vehicle insured for business use is essential to this role, in order to transport your colleague and the client when accessing places of interest outside of the home.

This young girl has a fantastic sense of humour, is caring, loves art, gardening, English Heritage sites particularly Belsay Hall, castles and adventure playgrounds so you will need to be physically fit and enjoy the outdoors. A kind and warm Personal Assistant is required to support a gentleman with complex needs in his family home. Helping with personal care, cooking, and engaging in appropriate and meaningful activities.

As a Personal Assistant, you would support me with my daily routines, housework, and meal preparation. An interest in cooking and music therapy and the therapeutic use of art/craft and horticulture is desirable alongside the willingness to undergo further training.

A person-centred approach always and an understanding of autism, and willingness to learn about deaf blindness / multisensory impairment would be useful.

Deafblind intervener training is planned for the right person.
