My son Zak is 11 years old; he is a happy, lively boy who has lots of energy. He loves to be outdoors, especially jumping in muddy puddles and picking up sticks. Other times he likes to relax with his tablet watching his favourite videos.  He really enjoys playing with sand and water, anything that is messy.  Zak has been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and has sensory processing difficulties.  Zak is non-verbal and relies on an adult to problem solve to find out what he needs and to prompt him.  Your job will be to support our family with Zak and work towards achieving the best outcomes for him.  You must also be prepared and not afraid to get involved in all aspects of personal care.

You will assist with bathing and getting dressed, prepare meals and drinks and support with going out and about I especially love to go for a drive.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced personal assistant to assist a lovely, happy, chatty 9-year-old young boy who has Cerebral Palsy, Dystonia and a Learning Disability. Bilal does suffer small seizures which are under investigation, these are minimal short episodes with no after issue. He lives with his mum, dad, twin brother and two siblings in the Fenham area of Newcastle.

Bilal is semi-verbal using one word language to communicate his needs and emotion and is quite verbal when he wants to be, and he understands a lot of spoken language.  He is a wheelchair user and does use a support stand to support himself when he is in the house, he needs full support when he chooses to be out of his chair as he will fall, he also utilised a highchair for feeding in the home.

Bilal is looking for a PA who can accompany him to his chosen venues or activities, including local parks, swimming pools and theme parks, you may be required to do this on a one-to-one basis or be in the company of the family if a family event is organised.  He loves music and really enjoys sports cars and driving racing cars which he enjoys doing at the local arcades. Bilal loves playing ball and has quite a collection of various footballs, he also enjoys watching TV especially if he has his favourite snack to eat which is a Greggs cheese pasty.

Bilal can eat independently but does have a serious egg allergy which means all food must be monitored for egg content and must be Halal based.

Personal care will be required in this role for toileting needs if required to do so.

A car driver would be preferred for this role if your car can accommodate Bilal’s equipment, alternatively Bilal is happy to travel on public transport, so a good level of fitness is required for the role to ensure safe, effective transportation and movement of Bilal.
