Hannah is a lovely bubbly, happy 18-year-old who is now ready to explore her local community and enjoy activities of her choice independently. For Hannah to achieve her goals she requires a Personal Assistant who would be able to accompany and assist her as she embarks on new ventures. Hannah has severe learning difficulties and Autism, so we require a hands-on experienced person for this role, personal care assistance will be required.  The family are looking for someone who will become an extension of the family and has the flexibility to work around Hannah’s routines as this is very important to Hannah.

Hannah loves music, dancing and singing and she has an awesome collection of “Hello Kitty” toys that she cares for, with great enthusiasm. She is a whizz on her gadgets and is just as happy staying at home with her electronics as she is venturing out. You may be required to encourage and motivate Hannah to try new experiences. Hannah would like to grow in confidence with using public transport and accessing the local nail/hair salons, she would also like to attend swimming sessions at the local pools. Food outlets and trips to the beach are also some of the options she would like to experience on her own, to develop her sense of independence.

Although Hannah is usually calm and relaxed, she can display challenging behaviours if feeling insecure or in unfamiliar situations and as such always requires supervising as she has no sense of danger.

You must love dogs as the family have two gorgeous cockapoos who enjoy joining in with family activities.

A car driver is preferred for this role but not essential, you must be happy to access public transport.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced personal assistant for an articulate young woman with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance). Due to the complex needs of Josie, supervision is required most of the time, although she is aware of some dangers like road safety, but caution is always required.

Josie currently resides with mum, dad and siblings and their family pet so being a dog lover is essential. SEND experience is essential for this role and you must be able to demonstrate strategies for deescalating dysregulation and challenging behaviours should they present. Background knowledge on PDA is essential.

Josie enjoys a variety of sensory stimulating activities including trips to the local parks/beaches and outdoor venues, she would like to visit and explore new venues to widen her experiences within the community and would like to revisit swimming and cycling which she has not done in a while but is keen to try again.  Routine is very important to Josie as she can become overwhelmed if sudden changes occur. Continuity and prior planning are required for all activities and trips.

Josie is a very chatty and inquisitive and is currently completing an internship on a local farm where her favourite animals are the alpacas, especially cookie, Cola and Costa. When Josie is not on her placement, she would like to go out into the community to build her independence and is keen to try local cafes/restaurants and maybe a trip to the nail salon as she really enjoys makeup and cosmetics. When Josie is at home, she enjoys social media and movies however you would be expected to monitor social media activities and distract from too much screentime.

The main tasks within this role will include supporting Josie in accessing the local community, accompanying and supporting her to engage in her chosen activities and promoting independent living with a focus on domestic activities like cookery and money management.

You will be required to navigate public transport systems and promote independence around these activities.

Are you reliable, motivated, and flexible? Are you looking for a role that’s both active and rewarding?

I’m an independent, outgoing woman who leads a busy life and values her independence. I have a fantastic team of Personal Assistants (PAs) who provide 24-hour support to help me live life to the fullest — and I’m now looking for someone new to join the team!

As my Personal Assistant, you’ll provide the physical assistance I need to live independently. I’m seeking someone enthusiastic, proactive, and adaptable — someone who can keep up with the pace of my life and bring a positive attitude to the role.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A mature and responsible approach
  • A good understanding of the lived experience of disability — or a genuine willingness to learn

This is a long-term position offering a stable income, guaranteed hours, and the chance to be part of a supportive, friendly team. Monthly rotas are planned in advance, and I aim to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your existing commitments.

There may also be opportunities to accompany me on work trips or holidays — always agreed in advance.
